Professional accreditation and international cooperation
To cope with the rapid changes and ever increasing demand of customs services and to promote international cooperation, we have all along organising professional training to serving Customs officers internally and to other law enforcement / customs agencies externally. With our expertise and dedicated effort made in this regard, the World Customs Organization (WCO), in December 2011, has appointed Assistant Superintendent TC Lui of Hong Kong Customs to be a Technical Operational Advisor in the area of Intellectual Property Rights for the provision of expertise advises to other WCO members. Earlier in October 2011, we have appointed Senior Inspector YY Shek to second to the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) as a Criminal Intelligence Officer with a view to contributing in tackling transnational IP crimes and fostering closer cooperation with the international police community.
